This Moment

A Friday ritual. A single photo - no words - capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember.

Labyrinths are Lovely

 It's "Amazing"!
The children and I built a labyrinth today.  They worked really hardcarrying the branches from the pile to place in the labyrinth.  Whenit was built  they spent a long time walking through it.  The childrenmade a line and while they were waiting for their turn to go in thelabyrinth they cheered on the child in the maze saying "Go "N" Go! Go"N" Go!"While doing this activity the children were learning aboutcooperation, turn taking and control of movement. ~Ms. Melanie

Feeling Foxy

Running the Route
I've been quiet for too long.  Sorry about that.  The start of the school year is always so busy and our time and efforts have been spent settling everyone in to their new environments and establishing our relationships with the children.

On Thursday and Friday of last week we did the Little Fox run for the first time ever.  It was simply awesome!  The children were super excited to run and very proud the wear their t-shirts.

We talked a bout Terry Fox this past week.  We talked about who he was and was this run is so important.  I am very proud of our children.  On some level they get it and that's all you can ask for.

Thank you for embracing this event with me and sending in donations with your children.  It is so appreciated.  We will be making this an annual event from now on!  Hip, Hip, Hooray!

Starting

I had a wonderful first three days of the 2013-2014 school year!  I
enjoyed getting acquainted with the new children and families in the program and I was happy to be reunited with our returning children.  Over the past few days we have been helping the children to become comfortable with our classroom routines.  Our practical life activities were a hit with many of the children.  ~Ms. Melanie
